Hanazakari no Kimitachi e starring Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun. Co-Starring Ikuta Toma, Mizushimia Hiro, Ishigaki Yuma, Kyo Nobuo.
Ashiya Mizuki is a girl dressed as a boy to attend an all boys school in Japan in order to get close to Sano Izumi. She believes it is her fault that Sano isn't high jumping anymore. She decides the only way to convince him to high jump agains is to dress up as a boy and attend the same high school and convince him in person. She is found out by the school nurse and begs him to not expose her so she can stay in school and help Sano. He agrees only because he believes that Mizuki will be able to succeed in helping Sano high jump again.
Mizuki's brother finds out about what she's doing and goes to Japan to bring her back to California. They are arguing in the dorm room when Sano is on his way back to the dorm and can hear them outside the dorm. It is reveled to him that Mizuki is a girl and that she is there because of him. He decides not to let on to Mizuki that he knows why she's is there or that he knows "he" is really a she.
Mizuki befriends Nakatsu Shichi. Nakatsu has no idea that Mizuki is indeed a girl dressed as a boy and ends up developing romantic feelings towards Mizuki. He is torn. He doesn't believe that he is a homosexual but he doesn't doubt his feelings for Mizuki. One day, Nakatsu walks in on Mizuki in the shower and sees that he is indeed a she. He decides that it shouldn't matter whether Mizuki is a guy or a girl, that he loves Mizuki no matter what.
This is a good show about love and friendship. The bonus about this show is it has good comedy also. I enjoyed watching it very much. I'm a big fan of the soundtrack also. Watching Japanese dramas helps me to expand my musical horizon.
Here is a fan made video of the drama. The song is called Color of the Heart. I don't know who sings it though. This song is not featured in the drama.
