"You should worry more about having and ugly heart then having a ugly face."
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (Perfect Girl Evolution) starring Kamenashi Kazuya, Tegoshi Yuya, Oomasa Aya, Uchi Hiroki, Miyao Shuntaro.
Takano Kyohei, Toyama Yukinojo, Oda Takenaga and Morii Ranmaru live at a boarding house while attending college. One day the Landlady for the boarding house proposes to the group that if they can turn her niece Nakahara Sunako into a proper Japanese lady she will let them stay at the boarding house rent free until they graduate college. The group of guys get excited. But unknown to them Sunako is not your typical girl. She loves all things horror related, including scary movies, skulls and the sight of blood. Sunako's hair covers most of her face and she dresses in dark colors and wears a black cloak to hide herself from all things bright, including people who's beauty shines on the outside.
This is a not so typical story of being yourself no matter what other people think. Love yourself for who you are on the inside as well as the person you are on the outside. You shouldn't have to change youself because someone doesn't approve of it. You should be happy with who you are no matter if it's a proper lady or a girl who loves all things horror. If you are happy you will be able to shine as bright as the most beautiful person.
I enjoyed watching this drama. The basic message of the story is a serious one but they did it in a way that isn't too serious but still gets the message across loud and clear. If you've ever been picked on for being ugly, fat, weird or any other reason, you could learn something from this. And if you've ever bullied someone for any reason, maybe you, too, can learn something from watching this drama.
Here's a fan made video using clips from the first few episodes of the drama. The song is "Love Yourself" performed by KAT-TUN. It's the drama's opening song and the JPop group that Kamenashi Kazuya is apart of. Enjoy.
