Claymore is the name given to the female warriors of an unknown organization created to kill off yoma. They are the product of human females that are spliced together with the flesh of a yoma, creating a human/yoma hybrid. Claymores are able to tap into the yoma part of their being and use abilities normal humans wouldn't be able to. The ability differs from warrior to warrior as it does with each yoma. When a Claymore exceeds her limits the yoma half will start to take over and the human half will disappear turning a yoma killing warrior into the very thing they are created to kill.

I usually don't write much about animes but I had to post about this one. It may even be the beginning to more anime posts in the future.

Claymore has 26 episodes. It is based off the manga of the same name. The manga is on-going but the anime aired from April 2007 until September 2007. Hopefully they will pick back up in the near future but there is no news that I see of this happening.

There is a lot of blood and guts in this anime. If you're not into that type of anime, this is not a good one for you. If you can handle it, I suggest you give this a try. I was hooked from the first episode all the way until the last second of the last episode. I'm also going to start the manga so I can see what happens with our beloved Claymores after the anime ended.

Here is a short teaser video for Claymore. I hope you enjoy.

Hey Vikki! It is interesting that an anime forced itself into your drama blog! :D I am glad you are going to add your favorite animes too. JDrama and JAnime usually go hands and hands! Violence is just for my sis. I should recommend this one to her! Thanks!

Actually, this blog is supposed to be about Japanese T.V. in general... like Dramas, Animes, Variety Shows, and even commercials. I've just been playing favorites with the Dramas. I want to try to incorporate more Anime into the blog. Hopefully I will be able to have it balanced out soon.

For being such a violent anime, I really enjoyed it. Yes, there was lots of blood and guts but there was also a tale of friendship, love, companionship and fighting your inner demons (in this case, it's very true because the Claymores are half demon half human). If you can bring yourself to sit through all the gory parts, I'm sure you will appreciate the deeper meaning of the story.

I hope your sister watches and enjoys it. ^_^
