Majisuka Gokuen starring Maeda Atsuko, Nachu, Oshima Yuko, Shinoda Mariko, Miyazawa Sae. Actually, there are many more characters in this show. Most of which are part of the performance group AKB48. AKB48 is made up of young adult girls (usually around the ages of 18-24... maybe even younger or a bit older). The do theater, drama and singing.
Majisuka Gokuen is about a school of the same name. The high school is an all female delinquent school. There are several gangs within the school with the Rappapa girls sitting at the top. The Rappapa girls are the strongest of all the gangs in the school. If you're brave enough to challenge a member you go in risking your life.
There is a rumor going around that a very strong fighter is transferring to the school. Maeda Atsuko and Onizuka Daruma end up transferring in on the same day. The only one the gangs see coming into the school grounds is Daruma. Believing she is the one the rumor is about a gang decides to jump her (at least 10 to 1). Daruma defeats them and does her wings of victory.
Daruma is the definition of delinquent. She talks crap, gets in your face and starts trouble. She is ganged up on by Team Hormone and is brought down. Maeda, who appears to be just an average normal girl with no gang or fighting ties, ends up being in the wrong place is ganged up on also. Little does Team Hormone know that Maeda has a dark past that she's trying to escape but once provoked Maeda gets serious about fighting.
There's more to a person than what they look like on the outside. Even the most timid creature could kill you if provoked.
This drama is about not judging a book by it's cover. The bonds of friendship are powerful and are often found in the least expected places. And if you're seriously serious about something put your whole heart into it.
I enjoyed this drama very much. It has so much to offer if you're willing to sit and watch it. I think it's meant to be serious but in a not so serious way.

this is absolutely a great Jdrama, although it may take me almost a few weeks to 'grab' all of the episode online.... small feed? darn
I usually just download my dramas from torrent sites. I mainly use D-Addicts bcz they have more of a selection all in one spot. Plus, most of the fan subbers upload to d-addicts.
