The Japanese sure do know how to entertain you in random ways.
This is a clip from a game show or variety show. The host is dressed up as Yankumi from Gokusen. The idea is for the "class" to not laugh at the videos they are being shown on the television. If they laugh, they are punished. Their punishment is a kendo stick swat to the behind.
It doesn't look like the kendo stick wielders are being gentle or holding back at all. I would imagine that wouldn't feel too good but sometimes you just can't help but laugh regardless of what punishment happens.

Poor Endo kept laughing. I think he got smacked 5 times in a row... and yet he was still able to laugh and get beat a few more times. I feel sorry for the poor guy but it's all part of the game.
:D After I watched this, I reviewed other videos of this comedy-group. It looks like there is another game called 'silent library'. It was also fun to watch. :D

There is also an American version of Silent Library. I don't get to watch it often but it is pretty strange and entertaining when I do catch it on the t.v.
